This “happy place,” as described by the customers that were in the day I visited, is located just seven miles from Interstate 75. Owner Cynthia Sousa keeps everyone busy with her classes and demonstrations, not to mention quilting knowledge that can help you solve any problem or match any fabric.
I asked how many bolts of fabrics she had – her response was, “I have no idea, and if I don’t have what you like, does it matter?” I have to agree – I’d rather walk in a shop with 50 bolts I can’t leave without than 1,000 bolts that I can’t stand! She does have a LOT of fabrics, never fear – and it is all wonderful! Robert Kaufman prints are everywhere, as he is one of her favorites, but that doesn’t mean Miss Cynthia does not also have calicoes, brights, prints, blenders, and solids.
There are fat quarters available – wrapped in plastic so they don’t get frayed or fingerprinted while we all look at them and play with matching colors. There are also Charm Packs and Jelly Rolls to enjoy.
Don’t miss the table of bolts. Yes, that is a bolt of stamped red-work patterns in the middle! There are some really fun prints here, so take the time to look through them.
The final joy for me – Stack -n-Whack! If you have followed me for long, you know I love this. There are several good candidates in the store, and I had to take a picture of this wall hanging. There are plenty of other quilt samples throughout the store for inspiration and admiration, and of course there are patterns…
Plan to spend at least thirty minutes here, longer if you get to chatting – which is quite likely!
