Sew Unique Fabric & Notions Clinton, Tennessee

Just six and one half miles from Interstate 75, and located at the corner of Hillcrest Street and Sulphur Springs Road in Clinton, Tennessee, is a truly unique quilt shop. Owner Helen Bullock’s husband had a carpet business in this location starting in 1986, and Miss Helen added fabric in 1997. The carpet ended when Mr. Bullock retired, so now it is fabric – all kinds of fabric – and notions, with their son’s screen print business taking part of the space that used to hold carpeting.

I love Stack-N-Whack, and there are some really great fabrics here for that purpose. Just check out these three to start. That blue rose is calling my name big time!

These are just some of the 2,000 plus bolts in the store. There are great blenders, and a selection of Tennessee Volunteers fabrics for the fan in your life. These are kept on an up cycled church pew so they are handy to the cutting counter – they move a LOT. Blenders and solids are also available, to match with the wonderful prints. Children’s fabrics live under the baby doll, and there is a nice selection of panels.

The shop carries home decorating and upholstery fabrics – wander to the back and check them out. There are some wonderful prints to choose from, as well as some solids for a more traditional look. Laces, fleece, and nylon net are available. Miss Helen also does alterations and masks for local fire, sheriff, and EMS departments.

Plan to spend 30 minutes at least here. Please note that Google Maps will try to have you enter the parking lot from Hillcrest Street – but it actually enters from Suphur Springs Road.
