Super Stitch North East, Pennsylvania

Located just eight miles from the Interstate 90 North East exit, Super Stitch is a center for both sewing machines and vacuum cleaners, but don’t let that fool you. Owner Ann Maas is an expert quilter, and has a passion for teaching you to be an expert as well.

This shop actually burned several years ago, and rather than giving up, the shop moved to rebuilt in a new location, remodeled to suit the business. The shop has fabric, vacuum cleaners, and Janome, Elna, and Brother Sewing Machines. They have and in store repair center, as well.

There are over 2,500 bolts of fabric here, with selections of grunge, batiks, prints, solids, and blenders. Panels are also available. Quilt Kits and Grab Bags are here as well. There are some great prints for my Stack-n-Whack addiction.

Wide backings in Cuddle fabric, as well as cotton wide backs, can be found here. I resisted the temptation to get enough Cuddle to make a whole cloth quilt with Cuddle on both sides… Maybe next trip!

Check out the quilting detail on these two quilts – it is exquisite. There are many other samples available throughout the shop. Don’t forget to go into the classroom and look at the samples there as well. I do like the lady bugs!

There is a great selection of sewing machines here. They carry Brother sewing and embroidery machines, Janome machines and Long Arm systems, and Elna machines. Take some time to check these out!

Plan to spend 30 to 40 minutes here. During to COVID-19 crisis, there are online classes, demonstrations, and updates to keep you from suffering withdrawal! Watch the website for updates as stores are allowed to reopen in Pennsylvania.

Stop back on Thursday to see what the North American Shop Hop is up to – I’m getting ready to travel again, but I need to figure out how to do it safely.
