Owned by Ada Miller, the Lone Star Quilt Shop is about 19 miles from Interstate 77 and five miles from Ohio Route 39, near Berlin, Ohio. Don’t let the Millersburg address confuse you; most of what is not in downtown Berlin is delivered out of the Millersburg Post Office.
This shop is one of the best around for a wide selection of panels. They are displayed hanging from the rafters and on the walls, so plan to look up and check these out when you walk in the door. If you are looking for a specific panel and don’t see it, ask the staff to find it for you. They will also help to locate stock for the panels on display.
When you are done looking at panels, check out the fabric selection. Take your favorite panel and match coordinating fabric for your quilt or wall hanging. With over 4,000 bolts on hand, you’re sure to find some inspiration! Note that Lone Star carries the large scale prints that are my favorites, as well as a nice selection of solids and blenders.
The shop carries a great selection of patterns, many with samples so you can check out the final product. There are also Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs, Fat Quarter Packs, and Quilt Kits. As an added bonus, if you love to quilt but don’t love piecing the top, you can discuss having the shop piece it for you.
Finally, check out the sewing machines, both old and new. I love the chartreuse Featherweight! If you catch the shop at the right time, you can see a brand new treadle serger. These come and go, but they are fun to check out. Lone Star is a registered Juki dealer, and seeing the old and new side by side really emphasizes how far machines have come!
Plan forty minutes to an hour here to give yourself time to check out all of the panels and fabrics.

I love the selection of panels. Since this shop is near me I always buy a panel each time I am there. One day I will use them all. Is not that the way of all quilters. We have our stash.
