Time to Stitch Sewing Studio Ebensburg, Pennsylvania

There is a lovely little strip mall by the intersection of Route 22 and Route 219 in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, that hosts not one but two quilt shops. Diane Vena owns Time to Stitch, and was helping a customer with a sewing project when I stopped in – and apparently spends a lot of her time doing this.

This shop opened in 2017 with a goal to educate and inspire. There are about 500 bolts of fabric here, from prints to blenders to solids. Yes, I was tempted by the prints! Those sunflowers on the top shelf were calling my name…

There are Layer Cakes, Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, and Fat Quarter Packs to choose from. If you aren’t sure what to do with them, ask about classes or patterns – Miss Diane will be happy to help.

Would you like a truly unique Birthday Party? The shop offers project oriented parties for children and adults. Girl Scouts come in for help with sewing (and sewing on) badges. There is also a Sewing Summer Camp. Residents in local nursing homes can work on kitted projects and then donate them back to the community. This is particularly useful, as many residents have all of the things that they need except something to do with their time. The shop has a nice selection of samples for inspiration – and I would love to know how they made their mascot!! I think I’d be a bit freaked out if I saw him in my sights!

There are classes Wednesday, both day and evening, so like them on Facebook and watch what is coming up. There is also long arm service on site. Plan to spend 20 to 30 minutes here.

  1. I am a frequent customer and student of Time to Stitch. With Diane’ s expertise I went from never quilting before to making my very first quilt in 3 months time. I’ve learned so much and have so much fun at Time to Stitch! Diane is great!!
