Just 22 miles west of Interstate 75 on good four lane divided roads is Celina, Ohio, and the home of The Quilterie. Owned by Valerie Vermillion and opened 14 years ago, this shop is dedicated to helping you to learn to quilt. Staff will also help with sewing problems if you’re working on clothing or other non-quilt projects.
There is fabric here – over 2000 bolts and counting, including a great selection of blenders and solids. Shelving is by color group, so matching a print is very easy. Fabric styles range from modern to Civil War, and everything in between.
Check out the samples available for inspiration above the shelving and ask about a kit or a pattern for whatever strikes your fancy. If you buy a pattern you get to choose your own fabrics – one of my favorite pass times! Don’t worry if you are new to this; help is available!
Don’t miss the selection of Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, Fat Quarters, and pre-cut yards – or the antique laundry tubs they are stored in! There are several similarly unique displays in the shop – see how many you can find as you browse!
The Quilterie has Open Sew on Thursday evenings – this changes occasionally so please call ahead. This is the place to bring your current project, or one you are struggling with. The goal is to provide you with help or advice if you need it, so that your project will be a success. There are classes on other days.
There is also 10 needle embroidery and long arm service available in the shop. Call for more information on these. Plan to be here 30 to 40 minutes to see everything.
