Less than 3 miles from Interstate 75 in Lima, Ohio, is For The Love Of Quilts. Owner Mary Lou Jones opened the shop in 2014 to house her long arm business and a nice selection of fabrics. The shop is on one of the main streets through Lima, and has really fun window displays.
There are large bay windows on either side of the entry, rather like an old Five & Dime. Take time to check out what’s is on display on your way to the front door. This young teddy bear is waiting to greet you, relaxing on his antique bench..
The back portion of the shop has the long arm system. spend some time looking at whatever is on the machine and admire the stitching. Most customers get edge to edge patterns, and the pricing is quite reasonable. Call the shop if you are in need of this service. Quilts can be mailed into the shop and back to you as long as you arrange this ahead of time.
Take some time to browse the fabric selection. There are batiks, blenders, Moda marbles, and prints. Miss Mary Lou also cuts her own 5″ square Scrap Packs and 2 1/2 inch Strip Packs. This allows her to sell at a much more reasonable prince than the commercially prepared sets. She also sells crafts by local artists on a consignment basis. Plan to spend 30 to 40 minutes here.
