As the name indicates, Joyce Martin’s Bernina Store & Sew Much More is a Bernina sewing machine dealer, but it is also a great source for quilting fabrics. Located between I76 and Route 11 in Boardman, Ohio, this shop is a great way to spend an hour or maybe a bit more.
One of the first things I noticed was thread of all colors, sizes, and finishes. This shop claims the largest thread selection in northeast Ohio, and the claim is absolutely believable. If you are looking for a particular style or color, or simply want to match a thread for quilting, this is the place to be.
However, there is more here than thread and machines. There is fabric as well, separated into several rooms. Each room has a selection of samples and kits on top of the shelves of fabric, so if you don’t have a plan for the fabric you’re looking at, you will walk out with one. There are also patterns available throughout the shop.
Fossil Ferns!
The shop is a dealer for both the Bernina sewing machine line and the HandiQuilter Long Arm systems. There is a technician in house. Quilter’s Select Rulers and Dakota Collectibles embroidery patterns are also available.
Don’t miss the batiks, jelly rolls, and Charm Packs. If you don’t see what you are looking for, just ask. As Miss Joyce put it, “If you want it and we don’t have it, we’ll get it for you.”
