Owned by Linda Kirby, Quintessential Quilts is just 3 miles from I90 in Madison, Wisconsin.
It is the second store with the same name; the other is in Reedsburg, abut an hour northwest of Madison. The store’s philosophy is to provide a haven where people can learn and grow.
Feel free to bring your latest project to share. If you are stuck, bring the project and get good solid advice about where to go next.
The store is your local dealer for Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff sewing machines, and has samples on display.
Come on in and have one of the staff show you how they work and what they can do – and then pick out your next sewing assistant! The machines range from simple stitching to elaborate embroidery systems, so you’re sure to find something you can use and enjoy.
There are at least 2000 bolts of fabric to choose from, many of which have the bold patterns that make the Stack-n-Whack® quilts that are my favorites.
There is a Judy Niemeyer quilt hanging inside the door, and the released Judy Niemeyer patterns are available in the store. I must admit that these are the first I’ve seen outside of a classroom, but I resisted the temptation to buy one until I take a class – I don’t want to be completely overwhelmed!
There is a statewide Row by Row the shop participates in annually – the photo below is theirs from three previous years. The store has a lot of patterns available, as well as sample quilts in the classroom that are not to be missed.
