A Quilting Bee Mahomet, Illinois

Located just over a mile from Interstate 74, this busy shop is a treat worth savoring. Owned by Andrea Kouzmanoff, it has been in this location serving the local community for nine years. Customers were happy to show me around and tell me how much fun they have in the shop – and they were working on some great quilts!

There are over 6,000 bolts of fabric to look through in this shop. Fabrics are sorted by color wave, with shelves of prints in between. There are several rooms to look through, with choices ranging from solids and blenders to Grunge in plain and dots. Don’t miss the cottons that look like cork, as well as the actual cork. Tone on tones are available in both white and ivory, and there is a nice selection of batiks.. There is a wall of Christmas fabrics, and a sale room with some great bargains. In addition, there are Layer cakes, Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls, and kits. There are a lot of bright colors, and some nice Stack-N-Whack candidates. Smaller prints fill out the offerings.

Samples are hung throughout the shop, with patterns nearby. There are also patterns hung on the shelves near fabrics that could be used to make them. Check out this wonderful hexagon! Pillowcase kits are available, and samples hang from the ceiling n a line down the center of the shop.

There are two Long Arm systems in the shop, so do consider bringing your latest masterpiece in to be quilted. The shop used to rent time on the machines; that has been suspended until after Covid. Please stay in touch with the shop if you are interested in this service. Plan to spend 30 to 45 minutes here to see everything.

Stop back on Thursday to see where the North American Shop Hop is visiting next! I’m heading back to Ohio after my granddaughter’s baby shower, so it just may be in my home state…
